Two days after Michelle MacLaren backed out of directing Wonder Woman over creative differences with Warner Bros and DC Entertainment Patty Jenkins has signed on.

Patty Jenkins burst onto the scene with her directorial debut in 2003 with Monster the story of Prostitute turned serial killer, Aileen Wuornos, in Daytona Beach.  Charlize Theron won an Oscar for he portrayal of Aileen Wuornos in the film.

At one time Patty Jenkins was attached to direct Thor: The Dark World however left the project over creative differences with Marvel Studios in 2011. 

Several sources have suggested that Payty Jenkins was the second choice to replace Michelle MacLaren.  The sources indicate that Angelina Jolie was offered the directorial chair first, but turned it down due to other potential commitments.
