You could almost create a soap-opera centered on Sony Pictures Entertainment [SPE] / Columbia Pictures and the Spider-Man saga. I suppose right now it would be more of comedy than a drama.
Over the weekend Bill Beckman Casting put out a casting call for The Amazing Spider-Man 3 starring Andrew Garfield and Dane DeHaan and to be filmed in Atlanta Georgia. No dates have been announced.
The assumption at the moment is TASM3 will be released in November 2016 the date currently held by The Sinister Six.
In reading between the lines there are a couple of details that caught my attention.
The most obvious is that the Andrew Garfield and Dane DeHaan will reprise their roles, many people thought they were out; however both are under contract for the film.
The next interesting tidbit, is what is not there, no director is listed. Is Marc Webb is out?
Third Filming Location: Atlanta Georgia (assumed to be at Raleigh Studios).
Final I have some what of a confirmation that meeting between SPE and Marvel Studios brass is still on later this month in London (Pinewood Studios).
Speculation: I have long believed that Andrew Garfield will make a Cameo appearance in The Avengers: Age of Ultron and Sony's rendition of Spider-Man would be Canon in the MCU, I believe that to be more true today. See what I wrote last month.
