The Fantastic Four learn that they aren't the only super-powered beings in the universe when they square off against the powerful Silver Surfer and the planet-eating Galactus.

What the critics said: While an improvement on its predecessor, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer is nevertheless a juvenile, simplistic picture that has little benefit beyond its special effects.

What I said: I am not sure how critics could call this an improvement.

I am not sure what it is about the Fantastic Four that cries out to Movie Producers to make such uninspired and unambitious movies.   Case in point Galactus, the destroyer of worlds is simply a glowy puff of fuzzy logic in the film.
Hypothetically speaking if you were to go back and rework Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer with motion capture for The Thing (played by Michael Chiklis) and replace the fuzzy puff of logic with an Actor in Galactus' costume chair, this movie would probably double its domestic box office.
