Okay, hang with me a second...

Roberto Orci, a long time producer and writer for TV and movies, has been given the directors chair for third installment of Star Trek (the reboot).

Roverto Orci is half the writing tandem of Kurtzman and Orci, that has written The Legend of Zorro, Star Trek: the reboot, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 amongst other movies.    He appears to be going Solo (or is it Sulu) for Star Trek 3?

Many writers have made the jump and a few have been successful, however Roberto Orci is a polarizing figure amongst many fans of the franchises he has worked on, there does not seem to be much middle ground.

It will be interesting to see what happens to his other projects, including Venom, and Van Helsing and The Amazing Spider-Man 3.
