X-Men TV Show

In the last view days there has been many rumors that 20th Century Fox has green lighted a pilot episode for an X-Men themed TV show to appear on the Fox Network for 2015/16 TV.

Many of these rumors go on to suggest that Evan Peters, Peter Maximoff/Quicksilver from X-Men: Days of Future Past (yes in the Comics he is known as Pietro) is considered the front runner for the male lead in part because he has experience as an actor in TV series American Horror Story alonmg with the fact that arguably his character stole the Show in X:DOFP.

These rumors continue with a tidbit about a lead character is female and that the female lead may be the ultimate lead in the show.

This is where the rumors run into major problems.

First and foremost is 20th Century Fox does not own the rights to the X-Men for TV, those are still retained by Marvel.  In 2001 20th Century Fox sued Marvel Entertainment and on that count lost.
So if 20th Century Fox is making a TV show than either they have received Marvel's blessing, there is a new contract, or another lawsuit is in the making.

Second is the problem of Female lead.
* The easiest option is Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlett Witch.    However she is included in both the MCU IP as well as the X-MEN IP and short legal agreement seems like a lawsuit in the making.
* The next option is Lorna Dane, Polaris, Pietro's half-sister.  She has most upside but there is a big downside, she is a relative unknown outside of the Comic World.
* Next up is Crystal, Pietro Wife, and oh yeah from the Fantastic Four IP.  If only it was that simple, she is from the Royal Family of the Inhumans, which is the MCU IP.
* Final option is a Female Mutant not used in the movies so far.   However to be honest there aren't many that would really catch people's attention as a lead.

The final problem is the setting.   X-Men: Apocalypse is set in the 1980's the TV show is supposed to be a connection to the current X-Men timeline, near future, this is going to get ugly.
