After hunting down and killing hundreds of violent criminals, Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, faces his most deadly foe yet: Jigsaw.
What the critics said: Punisher: War Zone recalls the excessively violent, dialogue-challenged actioners of the 1980s, and coincidentally feels two decades out of date.
What I said: When you think George Lucas writes better dialogue you have got a problem.
Punisher: War Zone is one of two movies in the Marvel Universe that did not turn a profit in its theatrical release, the other is Elektra. The movie starring Ray Stevenson as Frank Castle (he also plays Volstagg in both Thor Movies) and has a supporting cast of Wayne Knight, Colin Salmon, Julie Benz and Dash Mishok sounds pretty okay, but the dialogue is so bad your ears hurt. The violence is over the top and movie last three weeks (21 days) in the theater back in December 2008.
