A man blinded by toxic waste which also enhanced his remaining senses fights crime as an acrobatic martial arts superhero.
What the critics said: Passable if derivative as entertainment, Ben Affleck fits the role but the film is not up to par with recent superhero films.
What I said: To bad it isn't better
An addition made to the formula plus the couple of minor changes to the formula dropped this film two spots in this years rankings as opposed to 2014 move rankings.
With the soon to be release Daredevil limited TV series soon to be released on Netflix it an opportune time to look back at the 2003 Film staring Ben Affleck. It is a film that everyone agrees should have been better, yet no one can quite put their finger on why it failed. It wasn't a bomb at the box office, the critics only mildy dislike the movie, but the audience hated it. Did it need to be rated R, did it need to be longer, did it need to be shorter, did it need to funnier, grittier, ... Everyone has a different opinion on this. In the end it just didn't work.
On a side note their is a Director's Cut that is 30 minutes longer that most viewers think is a much better film.
