Vanessa Carlysle is shape-shifting mutant, known as Copycat, that has had an on-again / off-again relationship with Wade Wilson [Deadpool] over the years in the comics. Unlike Mystique Copycat power work at a cellular level allowing her to inherit the mutant powers of any mutant she copies.
Morena Baccarin (Firefly, Gotham), Taylor Schilling (Orange is the New Black), Crystal Reed (Teen Wolf), Rebecca Rittenhouse (Red Band Society), Sarah Greene (Vikings), and Jessica de Gouw (Arrow) are considered to be the short list.
With principal filming expected to start in a few weeks it is easy to surmise that availability maybe a factor in determining who is signed to play the role. If IMDB is correct that would leave Crystal Reed and Sarah Greene on an even shorter list.
