Speaking with Collider Simon Kinberg confirmed that the forthcoming Wolverine sequel will be r-rated. He continued to add that the film will be set in the future, have a western feel, but declined to address additional specifics.
Hugh Jackman returns as Logan / Wolverine and is joined by Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier / Professor X.
Many believe the rumors to indicate that the film will be based upon the Old Man Logan comic book story arc in which the Super Villians Won the "war" and created a dystopian future.
Over the past week several actors have been "announced" to joining the film, including Eric La Salle (ER), Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, and Stephen Merchant.
Additionally the casting call sheet for the film was looking for a body double that many people think is for Laura Kinney / X-23.
The film is set for release on March 3, 2017.
