With ranking X-Men: First Class number 20, it marks our 15th movie ranked this year.
It also marks a couple of turning points in the rankings.
- From a score perspective we have crossed the halfway mark, even though we have two more movies to go to reach the halfway mark in the count.
- We have also reached a point where for the most part the financials, critics, audience and myself agree that remaining movies all belong in the top half (there is one exception in each category).
- There are smaller variations between the differences in opinion moving forward. I, for the most part, don't believe I have to justify the critics and audience rankings with how I ranked the rest of the films in the list, The Amazing Spider-Man is yet to come, which is still a head scratcher to me.
- Financially the remaining films were clearly a success, with one exception, The Incredible Hulk, X-Men: Last Stand is a border line success. Only Blade II, Iron Man 2 and the Fantastic Four from the first 15 movies ranked are above the line in terms of how successful they were financially.
