Michael B. Jordan in talks to join the cast of Black Panther

In news broke by the Hollywood Reporter, Michael B. Jordan is in talks with Marvel Studios to join the cast of Black Panther.

Black Panther directed by Ryan Coogler from a screen play by Joe Robert cole would reunite Michael B. Jordan and Coogler again, previously they worked together on Creed (2015) and Fruitvale  Station (2013).

Chadwick Boseman is set to reprise his role as T'Challa/Black Panther for Marvel Studios with Lupita Nyong'o also in negotions to play T'Challa love interest in the film.   Andy Serkis has long been rumored to play Ulysses Klaue/Klaw reprising his role for 2015 Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Michael B. Jordan played Johnny Storm in the 2015 Fantastic Four film released by 20th Century Fox.   He is the second Human Torch to make a move to Marvel Studios from 20th Century Fox.  Chris Evans starring in the 2005 and 2007 Fantastic Four films before becoming Steve Rogers / Captain America.

As an interesting side note Black Panther and The Human Torch (Johnny Storm) are more like enemies than friends in the comics for extended period of time.     This would be an interesting way to merge the multiverse.

All kidding aside there are several parts Michael B. Jordan could be considered for; White Wolf, Death Tiger and American Panther come to mind.

Marvel Announce Sequel to Ant-Man

At the opening of New York City Comicon Marvel Studios announced the release date for the sequel to this summer's Ant-Man catching most completely off guard.
 
The sequel, titled Ant-Man and the Wasp, will see Paul Ruud and Evangeline Lilly reprise their roles from this summers film.  With an announced release date of July 6, 2018 Marvel will be shifting around the release dates of a few other movies.   Black Panther will be moved up to February 16, 2018, Captain Marvel pushed back to March 8, 2019.  
 
In addition marvel announced the release dates of three Phase Four films in 2020, May 1st, July 10th, and November 6th.   Beyond the release dates no addition details have been provided.

Ava DuVernay set to sign on to Direct a Marvel Film

Ava DuVernay, the Oscar nominated director of Selma has been linked to the Director's chair for the upcoming Marvel Studios film, Black Panther.

It is important to note that no public announcement has yet been made, rather several social media reports are suggesting the director is very close to signing on to direct a Marvel Studios film.   Reading between the lines on these reports it is easy to read into them Black Panther. 

The Wrap broke this story late yesterday and it will continue to develop for the next several days I am sure.

Rumor - Who you going to call - Black Panther Casting

Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson)
Ernie Hudson who has a longed, and fairly distinguished acting career, but will always be remembered as Winston Zeddemore in Ghostbusters is rumored to either have signed on, is negotiating or is at least getting a long look as King T'Chaka of Wakenda and father of Prince T'Challa, aka the Black Panther.

Adam McKay to direct futire Marvel Title.

Back when Edgar Wright backed out of directing Ant-Man there was lots of speculation that Adam McKay was the man for the job.   Officially after speaking with Marvel he declined due to the films he has already scheduled to work on.

Adam did however step in to help with the script and provide work on the script, which involved multiple weeks locked in hotel rooms with Ant-Man lead Paul Rudd. 

How impressed was Marvel with Adam McKay.   Rumor has it that Marvel has offered a future film to Adam McKay.
